Welcome to the AT Research Laboratory! We are housed within the Department of Rehabilitation Science, School of Public Health and Health Professions of the University at Buffalo.

We are a multidisciplinary group of therapists and human factors engineers whose research is exploring the impact of assistive technology devices for people with disabilities.  Our goal is to explore questions that have immediate impact on clinicians and device users. Learn more about our research!

Please contact us if we can help you in any way.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

The first quarter of 2007 has seen much activity.  We are one of five principal partners in the Consortium on Assistive Technology Outcomes Research (CATOR), that was recently awarded a 3-year NIDRR grant to develop state-of-the-art tools to measure AT intervention and outcome variables.  The start date for the new grant was this past January.  Dr. Lenker will be directing a project to develop the Assistive Technology Intervention Specification Instrument (AT-ISI) that will target seating & wheeled mobility interventions.  In student news, Megan Huberty, Erin Paisley, & Heather Cornell have been very productive on their respective research projects, which are all nearing completion.  Last, but not least, Paul Gilbert, Joe Mckeon, and Andrea Davies have been developing critical reviews of the literature on measurement of functional reach for wheelchair users.  Congratulations and thanks to all for their dedication and achievements!
